NEW! 400V FXR3 Series Offers Smaller Case Size and Higher Ripple Current

Case size has been reduced by an average of 9%, and ripple current has increased by an average of 20% in the new FXR3 Series from Hitachi AIC. These significant improvements have been achieved through the design of a new heat radiation structure and applying low ESR material in the manufacturing process. The new FXR3 Series now ranges in ripple current from 15.5 to 53.0 Arms, and case sizes from 64 x 95mm to
90 x 234mm, as compared to Hitachi AIC's popular FX2, 400V models.

This long life, high ripple current series has a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and a life rating to 5000 hours @ 85°C, with Hitachi AIC engineers stating a useful life of 8,000 hours @ 85°C. This useful life is dependent on ambient temperature and ripple current operating conditions versus the factory rating at 85°C and 120Hz.

This 400V FXR3 series has a surge voltage of 450V. There are 14 models ranging in capacitance from 3,900 to 22,000 microfarads. The terminal shape is M5 for the 64mm case size, and M6 for both 77 and 90mm case sizes. Mounting brackets are also available for the FXR3 series.

Hitachi AIC's FXR3 series gives the design engineer the opportunity to select the exact model to match the 400V project, thereby making the design efficient and effective. Additionally, if there is a special need, Hitachi AIC can custom design the capacitor to your specs.
